Stephen Curry contract breakdown: How much will the Warriors star be making per year?

Stephen Curry is going to be staying in a Warriors' uniform for a while.
Marc Stein reported on Monday that the point guard had signed to a four-year, $215 million extension with Golden State that will keep him in blue and gold through the end of the 2025-26 season. Curry has already been the league's highest-paid player since the 2017-18 season, according to ESPN, and this extension should keep him in that position for a few more seasons.
According to NBC Sports, the deal is worth $215,353,664. It breaks down his annual salaries as such:
- 2022-23: $48,070,014
- 2023-24: $51,915,615
- 2024-25: $55,761,217
- 2025-26: $59,606,818

The extension means Curry will earn nearly $60 million when he is 37. This is the second time Curry has signed a deal worth more than $200 million as he had previously been inked to a five-year, $201 million deal. According to Spotrac, he is set to make $45,780,966 in the 2021-22 season in the final year of that extension.
After this upcoming season, Curry will have earned an estimated $254,736,348, according to Spotrac. That currently has him sitting at 10th all-time on Spotrac's list of career earnings by an NBA player, with Lakers superstar LeBron James topping the list at $387,384,119, which includes the more than $41 million he'll make in the 2021-22 season. Curry would accumulate $470,090,012 in total salary earnings for his time in the NBA once his new extension plays out.
The 33-year-old point guard continues to play at an elite level in the NBA. In the 2020-21 season, he averaged 31.98 points per game, the 29th-best season by points per game in NBA history. That included a stretch where he carried the Warriors to the playoffs, averaging more than 36 points per game.
Since the first MVP award he won in 2015, Curry has been consistently one of the best scorers in the league. He has averaged more than 25 points per game in all but his injury-shortened 2019-20 season, and has averaged 28.1 points per game overall since the start of the 2015-16 season. The game's best 3-point shooter, Curry has also made more 3-pointers than any player in the league since then, knocking down 1,641 from beyond the arc at a 42.8 percent success rate.
